Dit is de eerste week van mijn zomerwerk op het lab waar ik ook mijn afstudeerproject heb gedaan. Ik ga eigenlijk gewoon verder waar ik ben gebleven. In de tussentijd schrijf ik lekker verder aan mijn scriptie en verdien ik een extra zakcentje! Win win right? Deze week is echt een beetje hectisch en all over the place. Ik heb constant het gevoel dat ik achter de feiten aanloop en dat komt omdat ik niet productief bezig ben. Terwijl ik dat wel heel graag wil! Haha, waar gaat het mis? Iemand tips voor betere motivatie en productiviteit?

Morgen heb ik weer een shootje op de planning staan dus dat wordt vast heel leuk. Ik heb heeeeeel veel foto's van andere shoots dus die foto's drop hier snel. Ik begin met deze foto's van de street style/urban shoot met Camilla en Tim. Cool he? :-)


This week was my first week at my summer job here at the same lab as where I did my thesis project. I'm actually just continuing my work here. In the meantime I just keep on writing my thesis while getting a little extra cash! Win win right? This week has been pretty hectic and all over the place. I constantly feel like I'm in behind on everything. It's because I'm really unproductive, even though I want to do a lot of things! Haha, where the hell does it go wrong? Anyone has tips on how to be more motivated and productive? 

Tomorrow I have another shoot planned so that's gonna be a lot of fun. I have sooooo many photo's from previous shoots so I will drop them here soon. I will start with this street style/urban shoot with Camilla and Tim. Cool pictures huh? :-)

Hallo zondag! Vandaag staat in het teken van schrijven, schrijven, schrijven. Ik heb de afgelopen week heel veel moeite gehad om iets aan mijn scriptie te doen.. Hebben jullie daar ook last van? Pff, het moeilijkste is om te beginnen met schrijven want als je in de flow zit gaat het wel. Verder moet ik vandaag mijn lunches voor volgende voorbereiden en nog langs de apotheek.

Het regent echt keihard dus ik heb eigenlijk helemaal geen zin om naar buiten te gaan! Maarja, ik zit nu zonder astma pufje en dat voelt niet zo fijn. Met mijn astma gaat het trouwens heel goed! :-) Ik heb zelf besloten om een iets lagere dose in te nemen en nu heb ik veel minder last van de crazy bijwerkingen. Ook heb ik nu steeds minder behoefte aan mijn "acute pufje" dus er zit zeker verbetering in! :-D Okay, back to work now!


Hello Sunday! My day is all about writing, writing and writing. I've had a lot of difficulties (lets say, lack of motivation) with working on my thesis... Do you also have that sometimes? Pff, the hardest part is to start because if you're in the flow, it usually comes very easily. My other plans for today is to meal prep my lunches for next week and to go to the pharmacy. 

It's raining sooo hard and I really don't want to go outside! But yeah, I'm without my asthma inhaler and that doesn't feel so good. My asthma is doing a lot better actually! :-) I decided to take a lower dose than prescribed but still enough for it to be effective.  I have less problems with these crazy side effects. And I also don't feel the need to take my "acute inhaler" as much as before so there is definitely improvement! :-D Okay, back to work now!

Fijne midzomer allemaal! Ik weet dat het niet zo'n ding is in Nederland, maar hier in Zweden wordt iedereen helemaal gek! Gisteren zijn Mike en ik naar de traditionele viering geweest in het Gammlia museum park samen met onze Russische vrienden. Het was super leuk en verrassend lekker weer! We hebben natuurlijk alle liedjes mee gezonden en als malloten om de midsommarstång (meiboom) gedanst. Als de enige volwassen mensen, no shame. Heerlijk chillen in het park, achtbaantjes pakken op de kermis en drankjes drinken op een boot. Wij hebben ons goed vermaakt! 

Happy midsummer everyone! In Holland it's not a very big thing, but in Sweden everybody goes freaking nuts! Yesterday Mike and I went to the traditional celebration at the Gammlia museum park together with our Russian friends. It was so much fun and we had surprisingly nice weather! Of course we sang along with all the songs and we danced like idiots around the midsommarstång (maypole). As the only adults there, no shame. We chilled in the park, we rode some roller coasters and we drank some drinks on a boat. Yeah, you can say that we had a good time!

hello, it's me!

Long time no see! Ik ben een maand afwezig geweest op mijn blog omdat de afstudeergekte me even te veel werd. Ik heb inmiddels alleen nog mijn scriptie op de planning staan. Aangezien die pas in januari af moet zijn, heb ik het de afgelopen week even rustig aan gedaan. Het is heerlijk weer hier in Umea en daar geniet ik volop van! Omdat ik zolang weg was heb ik hier een paar updates voor jullie:

Long time no see! I've been gone for a month because the graduation craze got a bit too hectic. Right now all that is left for me to do is writing my thesis. Because it isn't is due till January, I took some time this week to relax and catch my breath. It's really nice weather in Umea atm so I'm not complaining at all! A lot has happened since my last post so here are some updates:

Mike en ik hebben onze graduation ceremony gehad! Dit is niks officieels hoor, want mijn diploma krijg ik pas als alles af is. De ceremony staat symbool voor het voltooien van je 2-jarige internationale Master studie. De familie kon live meekijken via het internet!

Mike and I had our graduation ceremony! This is nothing official though, because I will receive my diploma after I finish my thesis. The ceremony is a symbolic celebration for the completion of a 2-year international Master programme. The family could watch it live on the internet!

Ik heb een zomerbaantje gescoord op het lab waar ik mijn afstudeerproject heb gedaan (check mijn awesome poster). Op deze manier kan ik werken in de zomer en schrijven aan mijn scriptie at the same time!

I got myself a summer job at the lab that I did my thesis work (check out my awesome poster). This way I can work all summer and write my thesis at the same time. 

Dit is Molly! Ze mag mid augustus met ons mee naar huis en worden we een echt gezinnetje. Ohhhh, hoe schattig is ze?! Ze is helemaal verliefd op Mike en bij ons vorige bezoekje viel ze zelfs in slaap in zijn armen. Mike en ik kunnen echt niet wachten!!

This is Molly! In mid-August she can come home with us so we will be a real family. Ohhhh, how cute is she?! She is really in love with Mike and last visit she even fell asleep in his arms. Mike and I can't wait!!
